As Gibson County, Indiana’s first radio station, we have a long and proud history of airing the best country music across the Tri-State Area, covering 34 counties across Southwest Indiana, Northwest Kentucky, and Southeast Illinois.
First founded by M.R. Lankford, WRAY first began airing on December 16th, 1950 on channel 1250 AM. The WRAY we know and love today, 98.1 FM, followed 10 years later, first airing in 1960. The station is now in its 3rd generation of ownership in the Lankford family and only continues to grow as the area’s leading country radio station.
